Mom's Homemade Chili: 2 T. cooking oil 1/2 clove garlic (minced) 1 lb. ground beef 1 15oz can small red, kidney, or chili beans (undrained) 1/2 cup onion (chopped) 1/2 medium-sized green pepper (chopped) 2 8oz cans tomatoe sauce 1 t. salt 1-2 t. chili powder Cook and stir garlic and meat in hot oil in large skillet until meat loses it's red color. Drain excess grease. Add beans (with their liquid) onion, and green pepper. Pour in tomatoe sauce. Add salt and chili powder. Stir well. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chili is desired thickness. (about 45 min.) Makes 4 servings.
